Kathleen Mary Hilbert

Kathleen Mary Hilbert passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 after a brief bout with Cancer.

Kathy, or Kate, as she was known to her family and close friends, was born in Erie on October 28, 1955 to Zygmunt and Theresa Olszewski.

Kathy graduated from Villa Maria H.S. in 1973.

Kathy met her husband Gary Hilbert in Erie, where they owned and operated bar/restaurants including: The Shaggy Dog, Chambers, Back Stage, and Helen and Jerry’s.

They later moved to VA, AZ, CA, and Las Vegas with Gary’s job before returning to Erie.

Kathy married her best friend and friend of her life, Gary Hilbert, on September 25, 1978. They were always seen together and enjoyed traveling, including cruising and special trips to Europe, Africa, and Yellowstone.

In addition to her husband, Gary, Kathy is survived by her brother Donald (Jennifer) Olszewski and her sister-in-law Nancy (Al) Renzi; in addition to a number of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

The Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory assisted in all arrangements. A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
