I'm sorry I cannot be at the service to share this in person, but something nobody knows is that Dave was, perhaps, the single biggest influence on my life. Dave is eight years my senior, so he was an authority figure when I was young and stupid. Trust me when I say that he fixed the stupid part.
My memories of Dave are endless....Our motorcycle trip to Florida, which I could write a book about, and camping in the Allegheny Forest. The camping part sounds innocent, except most people don't go camping at 11:00 at night after a night of bowling and a few beers, in a dark forest they have never been to. I could write a book about that as well.
Dave and our good friend, the late Dan Davis, rented a house together. Every night was a party night, as well as some days when we didn't feel like going to work. I grew up a lot during those times and had a good time doing it. As stated earlier, Dave was quite the influence on me. Who would think you could learn alot while partying all the time.
A part of me is now missing, but what Dave taught me will resonate forever.
With fondest regards, Bob Hein.
