Obituary of Margaret Mary Longberg

Margaret Mary Longberg Aug. 21, 1922- Aug. 12, 2023 Mrs. Margaret Mary Kaiser Longberg, age 100, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 12, 2023. She was born on August 21, 1922 in Erie, PA. She was the daughter of the late Carl and Mabel Johnson Kaiser. Margaret was employed as a bookkeeper at Les Crago Jeweler for 43 years. She retired at age 90 and moved to live with her daughter in Concord, NC. She was an avid reader and amassed a large book collection. Margaret and her husband Harry enjoyed traveling and camping, seeing their children and discovering new sights. They were also members of Bethel Baptist Church for several years and enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching in Sunday School classes. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Melvin Longberg, a sister Ceal Karr (Paul) and a brother Raymond Kaiser (Helen), a son-in-law Phillip Stasiewski and a great-granddaughter Janelle Marion. She is survived by two daughters Shirley Roggenkamp (Harry), Cynthia Stasiewski, one son Keith Longberg (Stephanie), four granddaughters: Vicki Seymour (Gordon), Robin Coburn (Rodney), Carrie Theiss (Jon), and Tracy Marion (John), one grandson Brian Longberg (Stacy), eleven beloved great grandchildren, dearly loved step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday, August 20, 2023 from 12 Noon until the time of service there at 2 p.m. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 1781 West 38th Street, Erie, PA 16508 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
