Obituary of Sheila Anne Vaughn

Sheila Anne Vaughn Sheila Anne Vaughn, age 85, of Millcreek Twp., passed away peacefully at the Residence at Presque Isle Bay on Friday, September 29, 2023. Sheila was born in Cleveland, OH, to the late Eugene and Catherine Shea. She moved to Erie at the age of 11. Sheila was a 1956 graduate of Strong Vincent H.S. She worked at GTE for 40 plus years. She was a life-time member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she was active in the choir and Christian education. She was well known for her famous potato salad which was requested at every event. The church was her second family. Sheila loved to spend summers boating with her family and loved entertaining. She had weekly Wednesday night picnics and, in her retirement, she loved to travel with her husband Bob and cousin Jerry. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert K. Vaughn and her cousin Gerald Watson. Sheila is survived by her children: Kenneth Vaughn (Judy), Robert Vaughn (Lisa), Gerald Vaughn (Carol), her sisters; Virginia Tuggy, Mary Ross (Mel), her blessed grandchildren: Katlyn, Rachel, Ryan, Olivia, James, Laicon, David, Tyler, Anthony, Douglas, and Jerry Joe, many great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Barbara Wilde (Cal), and brother-in-law Al Palmer (Dori). Friends are invited to call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 4 pm until 7 pm and are invited to the funeral service on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 11 am at Immanuel Baptist Church, 901 West 28th Street, Erie, PA 16508. A special thanks to the girls from Lakeland Hospice and Residence on the Bay for their loving care for our mother, Sheila.
