Obituary of Charles Gloth JR

Charles Henry Gloth, Jr. Charles Henry Gloth, Jr., age 91, the only child of Charles and Ethel Gloth, was born in Erie on October 11, 1919. He died on Monday, October 25, 2010 in Waterford, MI. He lived in Erie his entire life; in the city of Erie as a child and in Millcreek Twp. when he married Alene Jorgensen on September 25, 1956. He and his wife, Alene, had a house built on one and a half acres. They had a pond and lots of gardens on the property. Charles was a graduate of Westminster College and served in the US Army as a Sergeant. He served as a radio dispatcher in the Philippines during WWII. He worked as a Sales Manager and Cost Estimator for Continental Rubber Co. where he retired. He is survived by his wife, Alene Gloth, two sons; Randy and Barry, two daughters-in-law, Candace (married to Randy in 1989) and Beverly (married to Barry in 2004), two grandchildren, Amanda (Randy's daughter, 16 yrs. old) and Kyler (Barry's son, 4 years old). He enjoyed guns, hunting, skeet shooting, and fishing on his boat in Lake Erie. He also enjoyed watching sports (football, golf, car racing), doing word searches, reading mysteries, historical books, and fixing things. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. and are invited there on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. for the funeral service.
