John “Butch” Kuna
John “Butch” Kuna, a beloved resident of Erie, passed away peacefully at his residence at the age of 84 on Sunday, April 21, 2024. He was born on August 6, 1939, the son of the late Joseph and Helen Kuna. He lived in Erie his entire life and was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church.
John graduated from Harbor Creek H.S. and then served in the US Army. After the service, he worked at American Sterilizer for 37 years. He also volunteered at the Fairfield Fire Dept. John was an avid Cleveland Browns and Guardians fan. He cherished watching his grandchildren pursue their interests and found peace in tending to his yard.
John’s greatest joy was spending time with his wife, sons, and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann, and their children: John (Beth), Tom (Pam), and Jim (Leslie). He is also survived by one sister Jean Buetikofer and his cherished grandchildren: Matthew (Allyson), Thomas, Tyler, Nicole, Michael, and Allie Kuna. He was preceded in death by his siblings; Josie Kehl, Betty Martin, and Robert Kuna.
In honoring his life, a private family service will be held. John will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his community, and his passions. May he rest in eternal peace. All arrangements were handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd.
