Jamey Bruce Umland Dec. 8, 1971-May 7, 2024 “I never thought I would have to be writing the most wonderful and loving man’s obituary at this time in life” -Adrianne It is with a completely broken heart that we announce the passing of Jamey Bruce Umland, age 52, due to a motorcycle accident. He was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, the son of the late Bruce Umland and Victoria Ogden. He received his U.S. citizenship on March 22, 2006. Anyone who knew Jamey instantly loved his spirit and intelligence. He was very funny but at the same time sarcastic. He would give anyone his shirt off his back or tell you where to go, how to get there, and how fast to go. Jamey grew up in Escondido, CA, where he loved surfing, the ocean, and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Penguins fan. Jamey met the love of his life; his “sweet beautiful wife” and “sweet- thing”, in the summer of 2011. After years of heartache, they finally decided to see where their relationship would end up and had many conversations about love and how it was supposed to be. There wasn’t anything worth fighting over as in the morning it wasn’t going to matter anyway. Adrianne asked Jamey one night in March of 2017, if there was anything he wished he would have done due to the fact he was on dialysis and lived day to day. His response was, “I wish I would have had a son to carry on my family name”. In May/June 2017 Adrianne found out she was pregnant and it was his son. He cried with joy when he found out Maddox Bodhi Umland entered the world on Jan. 17, 2018. After 8 years of being on the transplant list, Jamey received a kidney transplant on Nov. 20, 2019. From the moment he received his new kidney, everything was now perfect and there was no looking back. Jamey proposed to Adrianne at the final Roar on the Shore event on July, 2019. They got married on Nov. 22, 2022 at 2:22 p.m. Adrianne always said he wasn’t her knight in Shining Armor, but he was her sexy biker in dirty leathers and the love they shared they hoped it on many of their friends. He is survived by his wife Adrianne Snyder Umland, two daughters; Ashely Umland of Escondido, CA and Trinity Umland of Saegertown, PA, one son Maddox Bodhi Umland and one step-son Owen DeLong. He is further survived by his father and mother-in-law, Dave and Karen Snyder, his brother-in-law, Justin Snyder (Angie), and sister-in-law Brianna Casey (Kris), two sisters; Naomi Umland of Oceanside, CA and Sarah Umland of Little Italy, SD. Although Jamey never had a biological brother, he did have a best friend who will always remain his brother, Brian Rogers (Margo) of McKenzie, TN, also several aunts, uncles, and cousins survive. Jamey will be missed by many and his family reiterates the phrase “Look Twice, Save a Life”. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 3 pm until the time of the funeral service at 7 pm. Private interment.
