Obituary of Georgia Lou Tarkowski

Georgia Lou Tarkowski Georgia Lou Tarkowski, age 81, of Erie, passed away peacefully at UPMC-Hamot on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Erie on June 6, 1943, the daughter of the late George and Lucy Tarkowski. She had been employed at Grants Dept. Store, Hall’s Motor Trucking, Jarecki’s Jeweler, and was a receptionist at Bayside Nursing home. She was a member of the Apartment Association of NW, PA. and receptionist. She loved spending time with family and friends and was an avid bird watcher. Georgia was an independent lady who made all of her own decisions. She was detail oriented and very meticulous. Georgia had a creative and generous heart and she loved making up special treat and gift bags for everyone she would visit and for the Blessing Boxes around the city. Georgia, the holidays will never be the same without you. We will miss you dearly and are only comforted in knowing that so many of your friends and family that have gone before you are now happily rejoined with you. She left behind many caring and loving cousins: David and Lynn Little, Gary and Laurie Slurkanich and their children and grandchildren, Ron Slurkanich, sister-in-law, Lee Mix, niece, Jennilee Mix, and nephews; Andrew and Thomas Blackburn. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Tarkowski. Friends may call on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 6 pm until the time of Memorial Service at 7 pm. at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., Erie, PA 16506.
