Obituary of John W. Willey

John W. Willey John W. Willey, age 92, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024, at the Erie VA Medical Center. He was born in Erie on December 13, 1931, the son of the late Beatrice Willey Wycoff. John served proudly in the US Marine Corp. He was a union carpenter (Local 81) for a number of companies. He was a former member of the Siebenbuerger Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending quality time at his son’s camp, doing yard work, and was an avid fan of the 49ers and the Yankees. He was preceded in death by one sister Peggy Gertner and is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years Gina Mancuso Willey, one son John Anthony Willey of Millcreek, two grandchildren; Alexis and Anthony, two great-grandchildren Elliot and Leo, two best friends; Gene Brinig and Jack Chamberlain, two special nephews; Ron Gertner and Donnie Marinelli, and several other nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 3 pm until the time of a Prayer Service at 6:30 pm. Entombment with full military honors will occur on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 11 am at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Research Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
