Obituary of Kathleen Collins Brydon Fry

Kathleen Collins Brydon Fry Kathleen Collins Brydon Fry, 81, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024. She was born in Elyria, Ohio on November 16, 1942, to the late Helen Ardis Shennum Brydon and Thomas Douglas Brydon. Kathie met the love of her life, John Fry, in Wheaton, Illinois. They were married on June 30, 1962, in Washington, D.C. while John was stationed there with the U.S. Army. They moved back to Wheaton where they started their family, eventually moving to Kankakee, Illinois. In 1974, the Fry’s moved to Erie, PA where Kathie began work for Firch Baking Company (later Stroehmann Bakeries) and later retired from Riley Stoker Corporation. Even though Kathie had a career in human resources outside the home, her drive was to be the best mom and role model for her children. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Joanne (Mike) Sovereign and Kendra (Jeff) Flatley, her two grandchildren, Meghan Flatley and Jack Flatley, brothers Jim (Carol) Brydon, Tom (Patti) Brydon, and Peter (Laurie) Brydon and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 56 years, John, and an infant son, Bradford. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Willows at Sarah Reed Senior Living for their wonderful care of Kathie over the last four years. Cremation has been entrusted to Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. There will be no public service and interment will be private at the convenience of family.
