Russell "Rusty" Eugene Hamblin Russell "Rusty" E. Hamblin, age 89, of Millcreek Twp., died Saturday June 4, 2011, after a brief illness at UPMC Hamot surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Warren, PA on August 18, 1921, the son of the late, Fred and Blanche Hamblin. He served in the US Army during WWII. He was a retired electrician having been employed at Church & Murdock Electric and Keystone Electric. He was a member of Walnut Creek Rifle Club, Erie County Sportsman's League, and the Erie Skeet Club. He enjoyed all shooting sports. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Rosamond Bennett Hamblin, three children, Gerald "Jerry" Hamblin, Russell "Neil" Hamblin, Sheila Hamblin Doolittle, grandchildren: Devin Hamblin, Casey Doolittle, Ashley Doolittle, and Holly Doolittle Wood and great grandchildren, Isla Wood, Valerie and Devin Hamblin. He was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn H. Stites, one granddaughter, Arwen Hamblin. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. and are invited there on Thursday for the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Private interment.
