Richard C. Harayda Richard C. Harayda, age 77, of Erie, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, with his daughter by his side. He was born in Erie on July 28, 1947, the son of the late John and Ann Harayda. After serving honorably in the Army during the Vietnam War, he returned to work at GE. After retiring, he spent his time with his daughter, Michele and his cat, Jasper. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Orioles. While the Orioles disappointed him this year, he was delighted with the start of the Steelers’ season. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister Pearl Ward. He is survived by one brother David Harayda (Jody), one brother-in-law Clyde Ward, his daughter Michele Harayda, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 4 pm until 7 pm. Interment at Spring Cemetery, Springboro, PA in Crawford County on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Erie Humane Society, 2407 Zimmerly Rd., Erie, PA 16506.
