Paul H. Johnson
Paul H. Johnson, age 87, of Erie, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024. He was born on January 6, 1937, in Erie, the son of the late Adam Merritt Johnson and Mildred Harman Johnson.
Paul was a graduate of Academy H.S. and then graduated from Kent State University in 1960 where he received his bachelor’s degree in accounting.
In 1962 Paul was drafted in the Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged at the death of his father.
Paul was an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance for 26 years; prior to that he worked at B.F. Goodrich and owned and ran the Little Pigs of America Restaurant and Seaway Market, both in Erie.
He was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church, and enjoyed fishing, playing bingo with his friends at the Regency, and collecting silly hats to wear to the dining hall at the Regency to make his friends laugh.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margie Johnson and one sister Beverly Moran (David), and is survived by his children; Ann Haibach (Tony) of Waterford, Mary Siegel (Scott Prontiker) of Allison Park, PA, his grandchildren: Adam Haibach of NYC, Paige Siple (Ethan) of Ft. Stewart, GA, Lain Conway of Bloomington, IN, Sadie Mohrbacher (Anthony) of New Kensington, PA, Sam Haibach (Charlotte) of Winter Garden, FL, one sister Pam Madara (Brian) of Fairview and nephew and niece; David Moran and Lorie Stroup.
Also surviving are his stepchildren; Bob Verno (Luanne), Susan Barzano, and Sallie DiPlacideo (Mark) and their families and his special friend Betty Stokes, and his beloved dog Louie.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 4 pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 6 pm. Private interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.
