Obituary of Vivian Hamil

Vivian R. Hamil Vivian R. Hamil, age 84, of Erie died at Saint Mary's Home East, Sunday, February 8, 2009 following an extended illness. She was born on August 14, 1924 in Rochester, NY, the daughter of the late John and Mildred V. (Costello) Hamil. Vivian was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School (1942) after which she worked at Bliley Electric until 1947. She was a cashier for the A&P Company for 29 years, many of them at the 26th and Brown Avenue store. She also worked for IGA and Golden Dawn following her retirement from A&P. Vivian was preceded in death by her brother John (Jack) Hamil, Jr., her sister, Phyllis Clutter, and dear friends, Thelma Marie Smith and Martha Weber. She is survived by her sister, Betty Kapper, and several nieces and nephews. In addition, she is survived by Norma and Mary Wallace, her beloved friends and former neighbors.
