Obituary of Ambrose "Amby" Till

Ambrose “Amby” Till Ambrose “Amby” Till age 91, of Erie, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 04, 2024 at Fairview Manor in Erie. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio on March 02, 1933, the son of Ambrose Till, Sr. and Matilda Till. Ambrose was a graduate of Millcreek High School class of 1951. After graduation, he was enlisted in the US Army as an MP and was stationed in Japan following the Korean war. Ambrose returned to Erie after the military and worked in the family business and became joint owner of the Till Distributing Company until retirement. Ambrose loved spending time with friends and family and enjoyed golfing, model trains, gardening, and fixing whatever needed repaired. He will be remembered best for his quiet strength and comforting presence to all who knew him. Ambrose is preceded in death by his parents, Ambrose Till Sr. and Matilda Till, sister Ruth Clark, and son Michael Till. Ambrose is survived by his wife Judith Till; a son, Mark Till and his wife Mary (Marchal) of Erie. Four grandchildren, Matthew Till and his wife Allison (Knorr) of Erie; Jeffrey Till, Jessica Till, & Sarah Till of Erie. Three Great grandchildren, Lilly, Ashlynn, and Kaitlynn Till of Erie; Family and Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home, 4216 Sterrettania Rd., Erie, on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Reverend Nicholas Rouch, V.G. will conclude the visiting hours with a Catholic prayer service.
