Norbert A. Kuhl
Norbert A. Kuhl, age 95, of Erie, died peacefully on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at Presbyterian Senior Care at Manchester Commons. Norbert was born on February 13, 1929, in Erie, the son of the late Norbert and Gertrude Kuhl.
Norbert married Norma McCollum in July, 1954, and just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Norbert served in the Army National Guard, Tank Co. #112. He was employed at Firch Baking Co., Our Lady of Peace, and the United States Postal Service.
He enjoyed woodworking and was a talented craftsman. He would build clocks for many local charity fundraisers. He and Norma loved traveling. Many of their trips were with their close friends, Betty and Don. At home he enjoyed vintage TV shows, movies, and game shows.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter Karen Botwright, one sister Shirley O’Hara, two brothers-in-law Donald O’Hara and Louis Weed, and one sister-in-law Jean Weed.
Norbert is survived by his wife Norma N. Kuhl, his children: Susan Johnson (Mark), John Kuhl, Matthew Kuhl, one son-in-law Timothy Botwright, one granddaughter Elizabeth Botwright Noonan (Jamie), and three great-grandchildren; Lilia, Rory, and Ryan Noonan, a cousin Jane Hulesch (Bill), a sister-in-law Judy Pennsy and a brother-in-law Fred McCollum, nephews, nieces, and many close friends.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the entire staff at Manchester Commons for the care and compassion which Norbert received while he was a resident there.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 4 pm. until 7 pm. A prayer service will be held at 4:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Manchester Commons, 6351 West Lake Rd., Erie, PA 16505. Private interment.
