Obituary of Ronald R. Lapping

Ronald R. Lapping Ronald “Ron” R. Lapping, age 84, of Millcreek Twp. passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Monday, January 6, 2025. He was born in Washington County, PA on November 2, 1940, the son of the late Arthur and Betty Jones Lapping. He was a 1959 graduate of Fairview H.S. He was employed at Erie Technological Products/Erie Specialty Products and Solvedt Enterprises, Inc. He was the secretary of Erie TPE Federal Credit Union. He enjoyed golf and bowling and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Frances Ploss Lapping, his children: Ronald R. Lapping, Jr. (Sandy) of Columbus, OH, Andrew T. Lapping of Erie, Debra M. Root (David) of Erie, Gary W. VanMeter (Maureen) of Lake City, his grandchildren: Tina Jones, Brittany Moline, Ronald Lapping, III., Garrett VanMeter (Amy), Patrick VanMeter, Joshua Lapping, and one great-granddaughter Olivia Rose Moline. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson Joseph A. Lapping, one sister Donna Sue Lapping, and one brother Tom G. Lapping. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 10 am at Christ United Methodist Church ,2615 West 32nd Street, Erie, PA 16506. All arrangements were handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd.
