John Robert Henry
John Robert "Bob" Henry, age 88, of Millcreek Twp., died on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at St. Vincent Health Center after a brief illness. He was born on September 6, 1924 in Saegertown, PA, the son of the late, Edwin Leo and Mary (Sherman) Henry.
Bob served in the US Army during WWII. He owned and operated Silver Auto Parts, Inc. until his retirement at age 82. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening, landscaping, woodworking, being with his family, and going out for dinner. His good sense of humor will be missed by all. He was a member of the Tyrian Commonwealth Lodge No. 362, F. and A.M. and the Zem Zem Shrine Club.
He is survived by his wife of 64.5 years, Ruth W. Volski Henry, two daughters; Joyce A. Christiansen, of Painesville, OH, Linda M. Nearhoof (Terry), of Millcreek Twp., one brother, Edwin Lee (Jake) Henry, of Erie, four grandchildren: Megan L. Fobes, Andrew J. Christiansen, Beth A. Christiansen, and James R. Nearhoof. He was preceded in death by his son, James K. Henry.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. A Masonic service will occur at 7:00 p.m. and a Remembrance Prayer Service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. by the Rev. David McIlvried. Private interment.
