Obituary of Kurt Heubel

Kurt H. Heubel Kurt H. Heubel, age 84, of Erie, died Friday, February 11, 2011 at the Pennsylvania Soldiers and Sailors Home after a brief illness. He was born in Erie on December 4, 1926, the son of the late, John B. and Alice D. Corsi Heubel. He was a merchant marine, a National Guardsman, and a US Army Veteran of eight years. He served as a Crawford County Deputy Sheriff. He enjoyed taxidermy, making wine, hunting and fishing, his grandchildren, and was active with the Boys Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elvera Italia Heubel in 1993, one son, Kurt Heubel in 1999, and many brothers and sisters. He is survived by one daughter, Tamara Mook (Gene) of Edinboro, four sons: Stephen Heubel (fiancée, Madelyn) of Waterford, Carmen Heubel (Patti) of McKean, Mario Heubel (Michele) of Erie, Salvatore Heubel of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; eight grandchildren: Christina M. Heubel, Anthony S. Heubel, Carmen A. Heubel, Kurt Heubel, Michael Gorton, Jason Gorton, Tara Heubel, Brandi Heubel; eight great-grandchildren; one half brother, Pat Sheldon (Carol) of Erie, and long time companion, Josephine Gustafson. Private service and interment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Soldiers and Sailors Home, 560 East Third Street, Erie, PA 16507.
