Connie Lou Hilliard

Connie Lou "GC" Himes Hilliard, age 70, of Millcreek Township, passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 at Pleasant Ridge Manor-West surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Erie on June 12, 1941, the daughter of the late Helen Jarowski. She was employed at GECAC Headstart Program. She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching her Buffalo Bills, playing bingo, and sitting by the pool sipping mimosas.

She is survived by two sons, John Himes, of Lakehills, TX, Michael Hilliard (Denise), of Erie, one daughter, Helen Byers (Bill), of Millcreek, a special friend, Myra, two sisters; Cynthia Gentile Conley (Edward), of Trinity, FL, Judy Thompson (Billy), of Lakehills, TX, two brothers; Harold Himes (Barbara), of Erie, Joseph Biondi (Diane), of Erie, eight grandchildren: Christopher Fornalczyk (Laura Sue), John Fornalczyk, Stephanie Ennis, Matthew Ennis, Lauren Hilliard, Rachael Hilliard, Rick Byers (Anna), Sally Smiley, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Matthew and Stephanie Ennis will especially miss Grandma because of special memories like her "stone soup" and she would call Stephanie her "little angel" and "singer".

She was preceded in death by one sister, Alice Lehman, and one brother, Stanley Himes.

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:30 p.m. Private interment.
