Obituary of Shirley Hopkins

Shirley Mae Tromans Hopkins Shirley Mae Tromans Hopkins, age 88, of Millcreek Twp., passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 at Forestview Healthcare. She was born in Erie on April 16, 1925, the daughter of the late, Carroll Tromans and Clara Tromans Strike. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neale I. Hopkins, her daughter, Becky Jane Hopkins, one sister, Donna Kehl, and three brothers: Carroll, Jack, and Jerry Tromans. She is survived by five daughters: Susan (Ron) Ugino, of Fairfield Glade, TN, Linda Britanik, of Butler, PA, Gayle (John) Ratay, of Edinboro, Joyce (Tom) Steen, of St. Augustine, FL, Carol Dombroski, of Kissimmee, FL, one brother, James Tromans, two sisters; Dorothy Jean Swanson, Judy Martinez, five grandchildren: John (Amy) Ratay, of Erie, Amelia Herko, of Butler, PA, David, James, and Jessica Dombroski, of Kissimmee, FL, two great-grandchildren; Abigayle Ratay, Lilly Herko, and many nieces and nephews. She devoted her life to her family. She loved to travel and was in every state except Alaska, as well as other countries. She was a gentle woman with a tremendous sense of humor and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 (noon). Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.
