Mae Elizabeth Antill Hutchinson
Mae Elizabeth Hutchinson, age 74, of Millcreek Twp., died Sunday, January 24, 2010, after a courageous battle with Parkinson Disease. She was born on May 1, 1935 in Titusville, PA, the daughter of the late Franklyn and Catherine Fish Antill. In 1957, she married John William Hutchinson, her husband and partner for 52 years.
While living in Titusville, Mae worked for Struthers-Wells Corporation and Universal Cyclops. After moving to Erie in 1960, she was employed by Hughson Chemical until resigning to raise her three children. In 1980 she re-entered the workforce with a position at GTE, where she worked until 1992.
Mae was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and good friend to all whom knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Blair Antill and his wife, Alice. Survivors include her loving husband, John Hutchinson, her three children and their families: Brad Hutchinson and his wife, Judith, Eric Hutchinson, and Darci Taylor and her husband, Alan and their two children; Lauren and Megan. She is also survived by a sister, Ruth Ann Secrist, a brother, Grant Vroman and his wife Nan, and many nieces and nephews.
Mae enjoyed laughter and was always looking for opportunity to find the humor in life. She enjoyed dancing, playing bridge with "the girls", needlepoint, and gardening. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the following charity: Parkinson Partners of Northwestern PA Inc. P.O. Box 10547, Erie, PA 16415-0547.
A private family ceremony will be held at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
