Margaret A. Karkosky Ishman
Margaret A. Ishman, age 87, of Millcreek Twp., died Monday, December 19, 2011 at Presque Isle Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born on June 6, 1924 in Brookville, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Karkosky.
Margaret was employed by Woolworth's and then Rea and Derrick Drug Store at the Liberty Plaza until her retirement. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, reading, dancing, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Ishman, and one sister, Helen Dickey, of Youngstown, OH.
She is survived by one daughter, Diana Bernatowicz, and her husband, Richard, of Millcreek, one sister, Mildred (Emerson) Brocious, of Brookville, PA.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Presque Isle Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and AseraCare Hospice for their wonderful care.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service there at 11:00 a.m. conducted by the Rev. David McIlvried. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 3108 Sterrettania Rd., Erie, PA 16506.
