Clara "Claire" M. Bukala Jacquel Clara "Claire" M. Bukala Jacquel of Millcreek Twp., died on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at her residence. Claire was born in Erie, a daughter of the late Chester W. and Monica Golembiewski Bukala. She had resided in the Erie area her entire life. She was a 1952 graduate of East High School. Claire had been employed as an executive secretary by the General Electric Co. for 40 years prior to her retirement in 1995. She was a member of the GE Retirees Assoc. She was a member of St. George R.C. Church. Claire was also a member of the Erie Maennerchor Auxilliary and was also an avid supporter of the Erie Playhouse. She enjoyed participating in her Girls Club for 40 years. She loved to dance, read and was an especially talented decorator. Claire had also previously served as a dance instructor at the former Arthur Murray School of Dance in Erie. It was there that she met the love of her life and future husband, Norman. Claire had often remarked that the best decision she had ever made was to marry "her Norman". They were married 39 years prior to his death in 1999. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one Godson, Joey Pellegrino. Survivors include one brother, Robert Bukala of Erie; one sister, Patricia Pellegrino of Erie; three Godchildren: Renee Jacquel of Erie, Chris Rajecki and his wife Babs and Darlynn Mientkiewicz and her husband Walt all of McKean. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who lovingly knew her as "Auntie Claire", a wonderful and loving woman who always remembered them fondly. No calling hours will be observed. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at the Holy Family Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Thursday at 10 am. Claire's nephew, the Rev. John Jacquel, Pastor St. John the Baptist and Holy Rosary R.C. Churches, will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Northwestern PA, 2707 Interchange Rd., Erie, PA 16506. The Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., is handling arrangements. Enhance your memorial with a slideshow and video
