Jerry D. James Jerry D. James, age 72, of Millcreek Twp., died Monday, January 2, 2012 at UPMC-Hamot after an extended illness. He was born on August 8, 1939 in Sallisaw, OK, the son of the late Arthur P. and Bertha C. Withrow James. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a heavy equipment operator. Jerry enjoyed being on his tractors while working outdoors and was a CB radio enthusiast. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine M. Strain-James, of Millcreek, two daughters; Vickie Morse (Kevin) of East Springfield, Becky James of Girard, two sons; Michael James (Colleen) of Lake City, Randy James (Connie) of Girard, two step-daughters; Patricia Rote (Michael) of Summit Twp., Christine Haas (Terry) of Spokane, WA, one step-son, Michael Strain, of Erie, twelve grandchildren: Todd, Eric, Brian, Amy, Corrin, Nichole, Jessica, Randy, Jr., Joshua, Cassie, Bethany, Kody, one great-grandchild, Connor, five step-grandchildren, one sister, Dorothy Davis (Benny) of AK, two brothers; Billy James and Dwight James (Linda), both of OK, his former wife, Cheryl Rodgers (Jack), and his loving dog, Lacy. Preceded in death by one brother, Lloyd James. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Thursday from 4 until 8:00 p.m. and are invited there on Friday at 11:00 a.m. for the funeral service. Private interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 3109 Forbes Avenue, Suite 101, Pittsburgh, PA 15213-3000.
