Obituary of Robert Jedynski

Robert Frederick Jedynski Robert F. Jedynski, age 87, died Friday, November 11, 2011 at Erie Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was born in Cassanova, Munson, PA (Center Co.), the son of the late Stanley and Charlotte (Modzel) Jedynski. He attended Munson PA Grade School and Morrisdale PA High School. He was employed at Philadelphia PA Gas and Electric Co. in Chester, PA, prior to going into the Army. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945 in the 710th Tank Battalion Company B where he was a Tank Commander and was given an Honorable Discharge. After discharged from the Army, he came to Erie and worked at Erie General Electric from 1947 to 1984 when he retired after thirty-seven years. At time of retirement, he was a Master Planner with MAC (Maintenance and Construction). He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Lois Marie (Johnson) Jedynski, whom he married August, 1947, a daughter, Jean Marie Dennet (Lee), of Fairview, PA, two granddaughters, Shelley Marie Kubaney (James), of Fairview, PA, Samantha Ann Renwick (Carl), of Erie, a grandson, Cliff Robert Dennett (Diana) of Morgan Hill, CA, and four great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Marie Kubaney, Andrew Joseph Kubaney, Faith McKenzie, and Luke Jayden Renwick. He was a 32nd Degree Mason for over fifty years, a member of Tyrian Commonwealth Lodge, Past Master of Commonwealth Lodge #695 F & AM in 1967, a member of Scottish Rite Consistory Valley of Erie, and was awarded the meritorious award. He was chairman of the Scottish Rite annual picnic for sixteen years. He had been a member of Erepa Grotto where he enjoyed singing with the Glee Club. He had been an active member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church for over fifty years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing golf, and traveling. He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters, and three brothers. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Monday for the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Brian Moran. Interment with full military honors at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 1603 West 32nd Street, Erie, PA 16508, the Veterans Affairs Hospice Unit, Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 135 East 38th Street, Erie, PA 16504, or to the charity of one's choice.
