Chester "Chet" Kubiak
Chester "Chet" Kubiak, age 85, of Millcreek Township, died Saturday, September 10, 2011 at St. Mary's- Asbury Ridge after a brief illness. He was born in Erie on July 20, 1926, the son of the late, Michael and Rose Sawicki Kubiak.
He was a life-long Erie resident and worked as a plumber with the Plumbers Union Local 47. He served in the US Navy during WW II in the South Pacific. He attended Immanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening and working in the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Ann Kubiak, three brothers: Joseph Kubiak, Bernard Kubiak, and Edward Kubiak. He is survived by his three children: Kris P. (Mary) Kubiak, Karen S. (Ed) Tenorio, and Kim A. (Scott) McCray, one sister, Dolores Baldwin, three brothers: Leonard Kubiak, Gerald Kubiak, and Richard Kubiak, four grandchildren: Robert (Amanda) Kubiak, Matthew Kubiak, Michael Kubiak, Elaine Tenorio, and two great grandchildren, Evelyn and Evrett Kubiak and one due in December. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. and are invited there on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. for the funeral service conducted by the Rev. Kimberly Saylor. Interment Erie County Memorial Gardens.
