William E. Lindsey William "Bill" E. Lindsey, of Erie, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Jamestown, NY on January 9, 1929, the son of the late, Edward and Myrtle Johnson Lindsey. He spent most of his years in Erie and five years in Largo, FL. He served in the US Army during WWII in the 31st Field Artillery Battalion. He was employed at Zurn Industries for 41 years until his retirement in 1990. For 32 years he was an officer for Local Union 1426 USWA. He enjoyed boating, fishing, bingo, cards, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Frances Travis Lindsey. He is survived by his children: Steve and Cindy Lindsey, Shelly Lindberg, Val and Keith Slivinski, Brenda Taylor, and Gary Lindsey all from Erie, one brother, Merle and Dona Lindsey of Chattanooga, TN, seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. Enhance your memorial with a slideshow and video
