Harry M. Longberg


Harry M. Longberg, age 85, of Millcreek Twp., died at his residence on Friday, April 24, 2009. He was born on April 8, 1924 in Corry, the son of the late, Hilding and Myrtle Pierce Longberg.


He was a life-long Erie resident. He was employed at Harrison Machine Co. until his retirement in 1989. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He enjoyed his family, wood crafts, puzzles, and reading.


He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret M. Kaiser Longberg, his children: Shirley Roggenkamp (Harry) of North East, Cynthia Longberg Stasiewski of Charlotte, NC, Keith Longberg (Stephanie) of Concord, NC, five grandchildren: Vicki Seymour (Gordon) of North East, Robin Coburn (Rodney) of Erie, Carrie Roggenkamp of North East, Tracy Marion (John) of Erie, and Brian Longberg of North East, eight great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Janelle Marion, and one son-in-law, Philip Stasiewski.


Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday from 5 until 8 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service there at 10:30 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Rich Baley. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 2115 West 38th St. Erie, PA 16508 or to Bethel Christian School, 1781 West 38th St.
