Roger J. Lusk
Roger J. Lusk, age 88, formerly of Millcreek Twp., died peacefully on Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Edinboro Manor. He was born in Erie, PA on September 10, 1923, the son of the late, John R. and Wilhelmina Lueth Lusk.
He was a graduate of Strong Vincent H. S. and Gannon College. Roger served in the 101st Airborne-Paratrooper division in the US Army during WWII. He obtained numerous medals. Roger started his career with Erie Resistor Corp. and then owned and operated Erie Technological Products; moving it to State College and renaming it Murata Erie, where he finally retired in 1982. He was a member of the Tyrian-Commonwealth Lodge #362, F.A.&M, the Scottish Rite Valley of Erie, Erie Consistory, and was also a 33rd Degree Mason and a past Monarch of the Erepa Grotto. Roger was a life member of the Erie Maennerchor Club, a member of the Saga Club where he held several positions, and a former member of Lake Shore Country Club where he had his biggest golfing thrill by scoring a double eagle on the number 8 hole. Roger was also a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, May Alice Behringer Lusk in 2009, one son, James R. Lusk, two sisters; Jean Oberacker and Audrey Anderson. He is survived by one daughter, Patricia Buchna (Dave) of Edinboro, one granddaughter, Courtney Buchna, of Erie, five nieces, three nephews, seventeen great nieces and nephews and thirteen great great nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Memorial service at 11:00 a.m. conducted by the Rev. David McIlvried. Inurnment with full military honors at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Erie Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505, or to the Erepa Grotto, 3828 Washington Ave., Erie, PA 16509.
