Obituary of Mary Bauman

Mary Jeanne Reese Bauman Mary (Midge) Jeanne Reese Bauman, age 67, of Erie, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2009 after a brief stay at Presque Isle Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born on October 21, 1942 in Kane, PA to Richard Reese and Pauline Baker Rees. Midge grew up in Smethport, PA and graduated from Smethport Area High School in 1960. She also attended the Hamot Hospital School of Nursing from 1960-1962. She worked at Sears Roebuck, Spectrum Control, was a pre-school aide at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, as well as a clerk at Wegmans. She had a very giving heart and volunteered in many capacities. At Kearsarge Fire Dept. Auxiliary, she served as President, Secretary, and Treasurer. She attended Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Erie for many years and gave freely of her time and touched many lives. Recently, she enjoyed attending First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant. As a Deacon at the Church of the Covenant, she took great joy in her outreach to fellow parishioners and the community. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, John George Bauman. Midge is survived by three daughters and one son, Kirsten Kunselman of Erie, John Bauman and wife Priscilla of Ledyard, CT, Carrie and husband, Michael Kaziska of Jefferson, OH, Kathy and husband, Robert Morschhauser of Greenfield Twp., PA; three sisters, Elizabeth (Beth) Swartzfager and husband, John of Oregon, Nancy Nick and husband, Robert, of Smethport, PA, Linda Ness of Smethport, PA; and many nieces and nephews. The real joy of her life was her six grandchildren who will miss her dearly, Andrew and Gillian Kunselman, Elizabeth and George Bauman, Mariah Kaziska and Logan Morschhauser. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant on Thursday from 12:00 Noon until time of service there at 1:00 p.m. Interment Erie County Memorial Gardens.
