Joseph Machi Joseph C. Machi, age 94, of Millcreek Twp., formerly of Mayfield Hts, OH, died Thursday, December 18, 2009 at St. Vincent Health Center after a brief illness. He was born in Cleveland, OH on April 28, 1914 the son of the late Michelangelo and Carmella Annabella Machi. He has resided in the Erie area for ten years. He was a design engineer for Clevite Corp., Johnson Bronze in New Castle, and Reigart Steel in Willoughby OH. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace RC Church. He enjoyed music and was a great sports enthusiast and was very devoted to his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Cook Machi, two sisters, Louise Scalaro, and Josephine Lazzaro, one brother, Frank Mackie. He is survived by one daughter, Sandra Chiprean and her husband, Robert of Millcreek, one son, Michael Machi and his wife, Diana, of Concord, OH, one brother, Anthony Mackie (Eleanor) of Macedonia, OH, also grandchildren: Michael Machi of Aurora, OH, Teri Schecter of Beechwood, OH, Kelly Voase (Charles) of Mentor, OH, John Chiprean of Erie, Cynthia Redinger (Scott) of Erie, and Joseph Chiprean (Sarah) of Erie, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday from 12:00 noon until time of prayer service there at 1:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th St. Erie, PA 16505.
