Obituary of George Maines

George A. Maines George A. Maines, age 80, of Fairview Twp. died Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Youngsville, PA on June 25, 1928 the son of his late adoptive parents, Jenny and Joe Polancy. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Herbert. He is survived by his wife, Linda Bell Maines, four sons: George Allen of Lawrence Park, David, of Erie, Jeffrey, of North East, and Keene and his wife, Kim, of Melbourne, FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Lee, Jason, Brandon, Geoffrey, Carrie, and a step-son, Jay Moehler, of Erie, several great grandchildren, and many cousins. George graduated from Academy High School and received his Bachelor's and Master's Degree from West Virginia University and a Doctorate Degree from SUNY, Buffalo, NY. George was the former principal of Wattsburg High School, Superintendent of Schools in North East, PA, and retired as a school administrator from the Millcreek Twp. School District in 1992. He was a member of First Alliance Church. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service there at 11:00 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Rick Crocker.
