Robert Lamar Majeroni
Robert Lamar Majeroni, age 74, of Erie, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, April 2, 2012 at Millcreek Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Meadville on July 6, 1937, the son of the late Lamar (Bob) Majeroni and Marion Hermann Majeroni Venesky.
He was co-owner with his wife, Rose, of Colonial Kitchen on Peach Street and West 12th Street, past President (serving several years) of the Northwest Chapter of the PA Restaurant Association, a member of "Eriez Indians Chapter" of the Good Sam Campers, past member of Kearsarge Sertoma Club. Bob was instrumental in organizing the Buck-a-Cup for cancer campaign in the 1970's. He served in the US Coast Guard Search and Rescue for four years. He worked as a chef with his father at the Beachcomber which started his restaurant career. He retired from Ferraro Ford in North East and also worked many years for Dave Hallman on State Street. He enjoyed cooking and especially loved creating fabulous meals for the family, camping, gardening, and refinishing furniture.
He is survived by his wife of forty-three years, marrying on December 18, 1968, Rose Marie Costa Majeroni, his children: Michael Majeroni (Sofia) of Morristown, TN, Geoffrey Majeroni (Maureen) of Harrisburg, PA, David L. Costa and his fiancé, Gail Mariana, of Erie, Edward Tenon, Carol Tenon, both of Erie, James Tenon of AL, his sister, Janice Majeroni Barron, of Erie, brothers: Rev. Ronald Majeroni (Barbara), of State College, Paul Majeroni (Diane), of Ridgeland, SC, Tony Venesky (Lillian), of Cleveland, Tom Venesky, of Erie, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his beloved Yorkie, Rocky. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Larry and Peter Majeroni, and his sister, Faith Ann Majeroni.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Friday at 11:00 a.m. for the funeral service.
