Gertrude E. Wohlgemuth Mandel Gertrude E. Wohlgemuth Mandel, age 81, of Millcreek Twp. died Sunday, October 28, 2007 at Manchester Presbyterian Lodge. She was born on August 6, 1926 in Germany, the daughter of the late, Karl and Valerie Jascewski Wohlgemuth. She enjoyed life, especially spending time with her grandchildren, needlework, crafts, baking and polka dancing, and was a faithful member of the YMCA. She is survived by one daughter, Monika Lyons and her husband, Kal of Kane, PA, two sons, Klaus Mandel and his wife, Janet of Kennedy, NY, and Mark Mandel of Harborcreek Twp., ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister, Gudi Mello of Erie, and one brother-in-law, Henry Bender of Erie. Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Hubert A. Mandel in 2006, one granddaughter, Lindsey Mandel, and one sister, Waltraud Bender. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Wednesday for the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of NW PA, 1128 State St. Suite 301, Erie, PA 16501.
