Ray Marsh


Ray E. Marsh, age 81 of Millcreek Twp., died Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Fairview Manor after a lengthy illness. He was born in Erie on March 13, 1929, the son of the late, Elmer E. and Lorraine Van Orsdale Marsh.


He was a graduate of Academy High School and served in the US Army in the Quarter Master Corp. during the Allied occupation of Germany. He was employed at Lee Tire & Rubber as a service manager and GE for twenty five years until his retirement. Ray was a member and Deacon Emeritus at Immanuel Baptist Church and sang in the choir for over 40 years. He served on the Board of Directors for Youth for Christ.


He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dolores Cornelius Marsh, one son, Douglas Ray Marsh (Leslie) of Cypress, CA, two granddaughters; Emily and Madeline, one brother, Lyle E. Marsh (Nancy) of Siloam Springs, AK, one sister-in-law, Nancie Allen of Apollo, PA, one brother-in-law, Norbert Cornelius (Shirley) of Erie and several nieces and nephews.


Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday at Immanuel Baptist Church from 10:30 a.m. until time of service there at 11:00 a.m. conducted by the Rev. J. Randolph Elliott and assisted by the Rev. Paul LeVan. Private interment Springfield Cemetery.
