Obituary of Frederick Marsh

Frederick Marsh Frederick W. Marsh, 82, of Erie, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Sunrise Assisted Living. Fred was born in Luthersburg, PA on November 28, 1928, a son of the late Harry Marsh and Eva (Gerhart) Marsh. He married Alberta (Lydick) Marsh of DuBois, PA on October 7, 1950. Fred was a Korean War veteran and served in the US Army in Germany during the Korean War. Years later he started a business and owned and operated Marsh Industrial Tire Sales and Service. He retired in 1981 and together with his wife, travelled throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico. He also owned a Florida home and for many years enjoyed spending the winter months in the warm weather. He had two main passions. He enjoyed gardening; growing just about anything green. He was especially proud of his beautiful dahlias. He also enjoyed country music and was a self taught harmonica player. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, two children; Gregory Marsh of Erie and his wife, Carol, and Mary Pearson of McKean, and her husband, John. He is also survived by four grandchildren whom he dearly loved; Peter Marsh, wife Shannon, Michael Marsh, John Pearson, and Taylor Pearson. He also had many nieces and nephews.
