Obituary of Alberta Marsh

Alberta "Birdie" M. Marsh Alberta M. Marsh, 83, of Erie, passed away on Sunday, August 28th at her residence. One of seven children, Alberta was born in DuBois, PA March 26th, 1928, a daughter of the late Grover Lydick and Mary (Lines) Lydick. Alberta was a graduate of Sandy Township High School, class of 1946. She continued her education at The Bradford School of Nursing and graduated in 1950. She also earned an education degree from Edinboro State College graduating in 1971. She worked as a nurse in the Erie area for many years. She was employed by the Visiting Nurses Association, Hamot Medical Center, and Millcreek Community Hospital. In addition, she assisted with the family business, Marsh Industrial Tires. Alberta married Frederick Marsh of Luthersburg, PA October 7th, 1950. Both she and her husband retired in 1981 and together travelled throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. During the winter months they lived in Florida. Alberta enjoyed the simple things that life offered. Her passions included reading, cooking, and gardening. She is survived by two sisters, Beverly Nelson of Columbia, IL and Dorothy Denman of Sinton, TX, two children, Gregory Marsh of Erie and his wife Carol and Mary Pearson of McKean and her husband John. She is also survived by four grandchildren whom she loved; Peter Marsh, wife Shannon, Michael Marsh, John Pearson, and Taylor Pearson. She had many nieces and nephews.
