Lillian Elizabeth Braund Martin
Lillian Elizabeth Braund Martin, age 96, a resident of Golden Living Center-Walnut Creek passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2012. She was born in Verona, PA on November 16, 1915, the daughter of the late William and Hannah Wilson Braund.
Lillian as preceded in death by her husband (63 years), Howard Herbert Martin, a sister, Jane Casey Smith, five brothers: Harold and Raymond Williams, Kenneth, George, and Gerald Braund. She attended Hershey School up till 8th grade then had to stay home to help her mother take care of the family. Lillian worked at the Necktie Factory, the A & P Grocery Store for 11 years, Erie County Tech School for 2 years, and then she retired at age 62. She traveled all over the United States with her late husband, Howard in their motor home. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Jane and husband, Lorraine Kunselman, one son, Howard and wife, Romaine Martin, all of Erie, four sisters-in-law, Vesta Braund, of Silver Springs, FL, Thelma Burton of Olney, IL, Thora Bliley of Waterford, and Dora Francis of Erie, two grandchildren; Melissa Tingley, of Erie, Dave Schiemer, of McKean, five great-grandchildren: David Jr., Paul, and Robert Shiemer, Devon and Becca Tingley, all of Erie, grand dog, Chancey, and many nieces and nephews. Lillian joined in the Activities & Outings at Golden Living Center Walnut Creek with her son, Howard Jr. and daughter, Mary Jane.
Private services will be held at Erie County Memorial Garden at the convenience of family under the direction of the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northstar Fund (the burned horse) at any PNC Bank branch or on the internet at www.helpnorthstar.com, or to Golden Living-Walnut Creek, 4850 Zuck Road, Erie, PA 16506.
