He was born in Knox, Pa. on June 28, 1929, the son of the late Carl and Dorothy Gray Martz. He was also preceded in death by his brother, William Martz, of Marietta, Ga. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty six years, Mildred Schermer Martz, his children; daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Dennis Bolger, of Edinboro, and his son, Carl Martz, of Edinboro. He is also survived by five beloved grandchildren: Kate Walsh and her husband, Derek, Colleen Rhodes and her husband, Michael, Benjamin Martz, Matthew Martz, and Carla Martz. Also surviving are three great- grandchildren who gave him such joy: Allison Walsh and Sam and Eva Rhodes. For those who knew and loved Walter, he will always be remembered for his cheerful and positive outlook on life.
