Rose M. Grippi McAllister


Rose M. Grippi McAllister, age 85, of Erie, died Monday, November 5, 2007, at the Erie Soldiers' and Sailors' Home. She was born in Meadville, PA on December 24, 1921, the daughter of the late John and Sarah DeMarco Grippi. She had previously worked at Super Duper Grocery Store. Rose loved reading, going to the movies and the beach, music and dancing to the Big Band sounds at Conneaut Lake Park. She loved camping in Canada with her family.


She is survived by her husband, Roger C. McAllister, two sons, Timothy McAllister and his wife, Brenda, and Matthew McAllister and his companion Tammie Blumish, two daughters, Cheryl L. Harris and her husband, Michael, Jeanine Marsowicz and her husband, Anthony, all of Erie. Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Homchenko and her husband, Paul, of Lawrence Park, Jeannette Greer of Meadville, two brothers, Steve Grippi of FL, and Joe Grippi and his wife, Mary, of Meadville, 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas McAllister, one sister, Josephine Zinnamosca, and one brother, Sam Grippi.


Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home, Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. for the funeral service. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Metro Erie Meals on Wheels, Inc., 201 State St., Erie, PA 16550.
