June was the Senior Class President of the Albion High School Class of 1950. In 1953, she became a Registered Nurse on graduation from the St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in Erie. Early in their marriage they lived in Broadview Heights, Ohio before settling permanently in Erie in 1966. She retired as a nursing supervisor in 1995 from Pleasant Ridge Manor in Girard, after 27 years of service.
After retirement, June and Paul were active volunteers at the Emmaus Soup kitchen. Also, for many years she and other members of the Altar Society of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church of Erie, prepared traditional foods, including their famous pirogues, for sale as fund raisers for the Parish.
In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Pacak and Anna Kulyk, and two brothers, Michael Kulyk and John Kulyk. She is survived by her husband, Paul, daughter, Laura Meaden Frey, and husband, Jim, of Murrysville, daughter, Barbara Meaden, of Erie, grandsons; Matthew and Alex Frey, of Murrysville, and sister-in-law, Jean (Michael) Kulyk, of West Springfield.
