Krishnan "Kris" Kutty Nair
Krishnan "Kris" Kutty Nair, M.D., age 70, of Atlanta, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital following complications after open-heart surgery. Dr. Nair was born February 22, 1942 in Vaikom, India.
Kris graduated from Trivandrum Medical College in India and completed ENT residency at St. Luke's Hospital of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. A well-respected otolaryngologist and surgeon, he spent twenty years as a partner of ENT Associates in Erie, Pennsylvania, where he was honored as Doctor of the Year in 2001. Dr. Nair will forever be remembered as a brilliant, caring, and skilled physician.
A previous member of Lake Shore and Lake View Country Clubs, Kris enjoyed spending his free time golfing. He also loved listening to music, reading, and most of all, spending time with his family. Dr. Nair touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity. He maintained his courage, determination, and family devotion to the end.
Dr. Nair is survived by his son, Ryan (Andersa) Nair of Prattville, Alabama; daughter, Shayna (Matthew) Raun of Atlanta, Georgia; friend and former wife, Renee Nair; daughter, Parvathy Nair of Cleveland, OH; treasured grandchild, Connor Nair, born April 5, 2012; brother, Paul (Savita) Nair of Atlanta, Georgia; three sisters: Radha, Omana, and Bharati of India; brother, Kuttan Nair of India; beloved nephew, Anil (Deepti) Pillai of Alpharetta, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
Kris was preceded in death by his parents, Sekharan and Rajamma Nair, and sister, Ammini Pillai.
Please join us in celebrating his life and spirit. Friends and family are invited to call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., on Saturday, June 9, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. with the Rev. James Haas officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the John Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation, 130 West 8th St., Erie, PA 16501.
