Obituary of Robert Noyd

Robert Melvin Noyd Robert Melvin Noyd, age 64, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2012 peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer at his home in Millcreek Township. Robert "Uncle Bob" was born in Jamestown, NY on November 27, 1947 to the late Melvin Norman Noyd and Eleanor Catherine Cool Noyd. Bob was a graduate of Iroquois High School. He served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War as a combat medic, later stationed in Germany, and was honorably discharged. Bob made his career at the General Electric Company for thirty-seven years and retired in 2008. He enjoyed woodworking as a hobby, loved his cats, and volunteered at Orphans and Angels. He was a member of AA and sponsored many people. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of twenty-nine years, Virginia Mary Fagan Noyd, his sister, Ellen Louise Noyd Buzzard and her husband, Samuel L. Buzzard. Bob is survived by Michael Hoover-Buzzard, his nephew, and his wife (niece) Christy Lee Hoover-Buzzard, their family Courtney Nicole, Courtney Marie, and Shane Zachery; Tracy Buzzard, his nephew, and his fiancée, Patti Morrison. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Saturday from 12:00 until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Private interment Calvary Cemetery.
