Obituary of Sally O'Connell

Sally L. Smith O'Connell Sally L. Smith O'Connell, age 69, of Millcreek Twp. died suddenly at her residence on her birthday, February 23, 2009. She was a life-long resident of Erie. She was born in Erie on February 23, 1940, the daughter of the late Gordon and Charlotte Sallat Smith. She was employed at the Erie Credit Bureau & Children's Services until her retirement. Sally was a fun loving person who never met a stranger. She loved children and animals and enjoyed doing crafts. She traveled extensively and her favorite place was Hawaii. She would travel anywhere to see her favorite singer, Bobby Vinton. She is survived by one daughter, Sherri O'Connell of Erie, one son, Bobby O'Connell and his fiancé, Michelle, of Girard, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one beloved sister, Phyllis Kranz (Don) of Greensboro, NC, one brother, Alan Smith (Janet) of Erie, several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by one sister, Claire Marie Long. Everyone will miss Sally but we all know she is resting in a better place and we will keep her in our hearts forever. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Friday for the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Private interment.
