Harvey L. Orzechowski
Harvey L. Orzechowski, age 66, of Lake City, formerly of Erie, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at St. Vincent Health Center. He was born in Erie on March 30, 1943, the son of the late, Vincent and Violet Denning Orzechowski.
Harvey was first a butcher with Manendo's IGA, then a manager with Midas Muffler. Following that, he was the parts manager with Dias Springs, then the owner of OCI, Carpet Installation. He retired as a driver with the Lift program in 2006. Harvey was a member of Gem City Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, archery, fishing, camping, horsemanship, and taking rides in the country.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia Hooks Orzechowski, six children: Lisa Waite (Rob), Patty Yurkewicz, Denise Menges (Todd), Michelle Froehlich (Kevin), Sherri Thomas (Joe), Kelly Held (Brian), one brother, Robert Orzechowski (Darlene), one sister, Kathleen Vaughn (Butch), twenty grandchildren: Jessica, John, Michael, Kyle, Codey, Matthew, Makenzie, Nicole, Kevin, Kristina, Jimmy, Shawn, Mykala, Carmen, Kaylie, Anthony, Jodi, Chris, Corey, and Austin, two great-grandchildren; Hailee and Brookelynn, several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and David Orzechowski.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Tuesday for the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Private interment will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
