Anna Burack Palmer
Anna (Burack) Palmer, age 91, was united with Jesus, her friend and savior, on Sunday, September 25, 2011, at Manchester Presbyterian Lodge. She was reunited with her beloved husband of sixty-five years, Henry (Mike) Palmer, who preceded her in death in May of this year.
Born in Export, PA, she was the daughter of the late, Frank and Stella Burack. Anna was known for her contagious smile and quick wit that lit up a room in her presence. Her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren whom she spoiled with love and affection. She was loved by all who knew her. Anna spent her lifetime in Erie enjoying fishing on Lake Erie with her husband, Mike. They would vacation in Florida each winter with their many friends.
Anna was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers. She is survived by four children: Faye (Dr. Carl) Oberheim, Betty (James) Hellman, Michael (Cathy) Palmer, and Barbara (Raymond) Rodgers, ten grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. Visiting hours will be held there on Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Lakewood United Methodist Church, 3856 W. 10th Street, Erie, PA 16505. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lakewood United Methodist Church, 3856 W. 10th Street, Erie, PA 16505, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Western Pennsylvania & West Virginia Chapter, River Walk Corporate Centre, 333 E. Carson Street, Ste. 441, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, or Asera Care Hospice, 1600 Peninsula Drive, Erie, PA 16505.
