Susan D. Bleil Susan "Sue" D. Bleil of Millcreek Twp., died on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Erie on August 26, 1950, the daughter of the late Philip and Elizabeth Demenik. Sue started her career as a lab technician for the Erie Community Blood Bank and later after raising three children she worked for Naturally Yours Custom Gift Basket for the last 20 years. She was very involved at St. Francis Xavier Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister, sang in the choir, implemented the Angel tree for the needy in the McKean area, organized the McKean food bank at St. Francis, taught CCD for many years, and helped organize a morning day care center at the church. She was also a member of CALL for many years as well as a member of the Lake Erie Junior Women's Club. The loves of her life were her grandchildren. She also loved to garden, cook, and was noted for her pie making. She was also one to keep herself in good physical condition. She was an avid walker who in September 2009 walked around the peninsula. She was an Erie Community blood bank donor who just received her 15 gallon award. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Bernard J. Bleil, her children: Brian Bleil of Charlotte, NC, Anita Faulhaber (Joel) of Erie, Gary Bleil (Aubri) of Fernandina Beach, FL, her sisters: Phyllis A. Bujnowski of Thousand Oaks, CA, Carolyn E. Atkinson (Oneal) of Las Vegas, NV, Anna Marie Fasso of Alexandria, VA, Rosemary F. Maher of Fairview, her brothers; Jim P. Demenik (Terri) of Lake City and John W. Demenik of Riverside, CA., grandchildren: Abigail Faulhaber, Claire Faulhaber, and Colin Faulhaber. Friends may call at St. Francis Xavier R.C. Church on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial conducted by Fr. Mark Nowak. Interment, Laurel Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. The family would also like to thank Heartland Hospice for their special care and all the people who offered their support whether it was a card, preparing a meal, or just a kind word during a very difficult time. A special thanks to Sue's sisters who were with us every step of the way.
