Susan E. Rozelle
Susan E. Miller Rozelle, age 72, of Erie, died Monday, February 11, 2008 at the Fairview Manor after a short illness which she fought courageously. She was born on November 29, 1935 in Ontonagon, MI, the daughter of the late, Jesse L. and Lyla M. Fister Miller.
She had resided in the Corry area for 45 years before moving to Erie. Susan was employed in the Carlisle and Corry School Districts and also worked in Corry Higher Education. She attended Thiel College and graduated from Youngstown State University (YSU) and was a member of St Paul's and Lamb of God Lutheran Churches in Corry and Erie.
She was devoted to her family and thoroughly enjoyed teaching elementary education and secondary English, playing the piano and guitar, singing in choirs, acting in high school and college plays, and teaching beginning piano. She enjoyed reading, especially British and Egyptian history, writing, and painting. She enjoyed traveling, walking, the YMCA, and was a volunteer at the Corry Manor and several schools in the area.
Her husband, John T. Rozelle, and one sister, Katherine Keller, preceded her in death. Susan is survived by two sons, Eric Rozelle and his wife, Francesca, of GA, Jay Rozelle of North East, and one daughter, Suzanne Baron and her husband, Mike, of WY, and one brother, Eugene Miller, of VA.
Private visitation. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 25, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at the Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 606 East 38th St., Erie. Inurnment at Green Haven Memorial Gardens, Canfield, OH. Local arrangements are being handled by the DUSCKAS-MARTIN FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY, INC., 4216 Sterrettania Rd.
