Viola "Vi" May Fenton Bliss Viola "Vi" May Fenton Bliss, age 92, of Millcreek Twp., passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Forest View Health Care. She was born in Edinboro, PA on May 6, 1921, the daughter of the late, William and Pauline Hotchkiss Fenton. She was an active member of First Alliance Church where she chaired a missionary ladies' group. She had previously taught Sunday School. Vi attended Nyack College in Nyack, NY. She and her husband served as missionary teachers in Bali, Indonesia, and pastored in Emerson, NJ. She returned to Erie in 1971 following her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Maurice Bliss, one sister, Lenora Fenton, and one granddaughter, Amy Bliss. She is survived by one son, the Rev. Bruce Bliss (Susan), of Lawrenceville, Georgia, three grandchildren: Jennifer, David, and Richard Bliss. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 Noon conducted by the Rev. Rick Crocker. Private interment Mina Cemetery, Mina, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Alliance Church Building Fund, 2939 Zimmerly Rd., Erie, PA 16506.
